Robert Kiyosakis foreword to Real Estate Riches
Robert Kiyosaki
Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki introduces Dolf De Roos
When I was a little boy, rich dad played the game of Monopoly with his son and me for hours. He would often say, "The formula for great wealth is found right here on this board. The formula is, four green houses...red hotel." When people ask me what made me rich, I simply say, "I never stopped playing Monopoly once I grew up."
Today, when I see the stock market bouncing up and down, I always give thanks for my investments in real estate. Every month, regardless if the stock market is up or down, my wife, Kim, and I receive our checks in the mail from our apartment houses (our red hotels). Rich dad said to me years ago, "Regardless of what you do when you grow up, invest your excess cash and hold your wealth in real estate. It may not be the most exciting investment, but if you invest wisely, it will keep you the most happy and secure." I am glad I followed his advice.
I am very excited about introducing you to Dolf de Roos. Dolf is one of the most competent instructors on the subject of real estate I have ever met. Whenever we teach together, I am always amazed at how much I learn from him learning that equates to higher returns with less risk, using less of my own money, whenever I invest in real estate. In other words, I was rich before I met Dolf, but after meeting and studying with him, he has made me even richer, more confident, and more financially secure. His lessons on realestate are priceless.
I believe that there are people we are destined to meet, even if those people start their lives in a different part of the world. Dolf is one of those people in my life. Although he was born in New Zealand and I was born in Hawaii, we found out that we have some of the same friends in common, even though we had never met and lived thousands of miles apart. Once we did meet, we found a friendship that is rare and cherished, a common love of real estate, and a passion for teaching. As I said, such friendships are rare. Today, Dolf and his wife are neighbours to Kim and me in Phoenix, Arizona. I can walk to his house in less than two minutes.
Dolf, in my opinion, is one of the greatest teachers of real estate in the world. More importantly, he practices what he teaches. In the world of investment advice, too many people make more money selling their advice rather than taking their own advice. As my rich dad would say, "There are people who walk their talk and there are people who just talk. "I can personally vouch for the fact that Dolf de Roos walks his talk. It is a great honor to have Dolf write this book for the Rich Dad Advisor series; a book on a very important subject.....the subject of investing in real estate.
